When I began my piano apprenticeship, I already understood much of the theory behind tuning and repair. But what truly shaped me was the hands-on experience—something every piano technician needs before working independently. I was fortunate to apprentice with two technicians: one who focused primarily on tuning and repairs, and another who specialized in rebuilding and restoration.

Learning from both gave me a well-rounded understanding of the full craft—tuning, repairing, and rebuilding pianos.

I love this work, and it feels like an important part of who I am.
